QOTD #2: Extraordinary

Published by Ashley on

Andy seems to have a hard time talking about Anna and how she is doing, while Pansy seems to try and treat her as normal as possible. Why do you think there is such a difference in their approaches?

I think as Anna’s brother Andy would feel differently and be worried about his sister in a different way than Pansy would. I feel Andy would have a hard time with his sister’s brain injury and may just want to keep his feelings to himself and his family. Which I understand. As Anna’s friend Pansy would just like to see her friend get better and hope for the best. I think Pansy is doing good at trying to stay positive but I feel she should not be as conserned about the future and more conserned about being a good friend to Anna now and accept what is and what may be then wish for a future that may not exist. Great book

Hi Katie! That’s a really great answer!! I agree that Andy is worried about Anna in a different way than Pansy. I think that he’s more aware of what the situation really is, and how she will never be back to the same old Anna, while Pansy seems to be holding on to the idea that after the surgery, everything will be back to normal. I’m loving the book too, and can’t wait to finish!

I am really enjoying this book.
I like pansy as a character a lot
I am also hopeful to see Anna ok in the end like pansy is.
I know its hard to be ok with brain injury but hopefully all works out in the end
