I think Kyle keeps crossing lines because he does not have a good support system such as friends that would make good choices and encourage him to. His mom is the only one who does support Kyle but to him I think it sounds like his mom telling him what he should and shouldn’t do other than supporting him. Also when he trys to make the right choice by getting a job it does not work out and that can be disceraging. He may feel like he is just following his friends to fit in so what they do he does. It is important to make good choices in life but at times it may feel hopeless so go get help by talking to someone who you feel comfortable with and who you feel won’t judge you.
