QOTD #1: The Rest of Us Just Live Here

Why do you think the authors starts the chapters with descriptions of what happens to the indie kids, while focusing the story on Mike and his friends? Do you like the way that’s written? Why or why not?

I think the author does this to combine two diffrent story’s into one. Maybe we will see why the author does this more later on..I like the story of mike and his friends but I have a feeling it will tie in more with the story of the indie kids as the book continues. I don’t really like the way it’s written as I would like to hear more about the indie kids story’s. I would do diffrent chapters some to focus on the story’s of the indie kids and some to focus on mike and his friends. Will continue to read. Hopefully the story lines come together more.

Hi Katie! I’m not too far into this book yet, but I’m intrigued by how it’s written. It’s definitely not like anything I’ve read before, and it’s interesting to sort of know what is happening in another story line, and even seeing it play out with the first story line, but without getting all the details. I agree – I hope it connects together in the end! Happy Reading!
