As Bod grows older, he becomes more curious about the outside world, and starts interacting more with the living. Do these interactions influence his relationships with the dead? How does these occurrences colour his understanding of the living world?

His parents and guardians all warn him against the different creatures around him, yet he continues to seek them out. Do they turn out to be as described by the ghosts in the graveyard?
